Spirits? Well, the spirit of hospitality, for certain

If you believe the rumors, Charles Pfister is Milwaukee’s eternal host, welcoming guests to his luxurious Pfister Hotel despite checking out for his last time in 1927. There are stories of MLB players shaking in their cleats at the prospect of staying in the hotel, and rumors of a portly, dapper gentleman overseeing events in the Imperial Ballroom.  All of these tales are attributed to the man who was at the helm of the hotel when it opened in 1893.

While most attached to the hotel believe that the landmark is haunted by nothing more than the spirit of hospitality, they know that some guests are drawn to the property in hopes of catching a glimpse of the city’s favorite host, Mr. Pfister. It is for those guests that the hotel offers the Room with a Boo! Package. This spook-tacular deal includes overnight accommodations, “boo-berry” pancakes and (my favorite part!) a copy of the book Milwaukee Ghosts and Legends.  Scare yourself to sleep while reading about Brew City’s most famous specters, and wake to a frighteningly delicious breakfast, all while enjoying the unparalleled hospitality of The Pfister Hotel.

As the 11th Pfister Narrator, I am thrilled that the hotel is offering my book, Milwaukee Ghosts and Legends as part of this spook-tacular package. I am delighted to have the opportunity to continue to share my passion for Milwaukee history and folklore with guests long after the completion of my residency through this book.

The hotel will not promise that you’ll see a ghost, but it does guarantee a scary-good stay in a hotel that has been delighting guests for 125 years.
