Successful Gallery Night for Rosy Petri

Posted by on Apr 29, 2019

Rosy Petri opened the doors of her new studio to welcome visitors as she hosted her first Gallery Night as the Artist in Residence at the Pfister Hotel. She has designed a bright space with cozy conversation areas, which encourage guests to get comfortable and watch the artist create. The multidisciplinary artist combines print-making and textile work to create pieces that honor notable figures in African American culture. Using kente fabrics, she layers the pieces to produce vibrant portraits that celebrate the spirit of her subjects.

Those eager to see more of Rosy Petri’s work will soon have that opportunity. Much of her collection, which has been on display at various art shows around the city, will be available for viewing at her Pfister Hotel studio in the coming weeks.

Petri encourages guests to return to the studio in May to view her additional pieces, and watch the progression of her work in progress, which honors male and female Negro League players.
